Wells Fargo wrongfully charged with fraud of her own account

My only questions are:
Why the hell she still with them
and why the hell didn't Wells fargo close down the account immeidately and open up a new one? I thought that was automatic procudre these days?

Yeah, that's what I want to know. Why didn't she close her account and her credit cards and get new ones issued? Why did she not put a Fraud Watch notice on her credit report? She is not completely absolved of blame here.

That's the FIRST thing to do when you lose your wallet. Otherwise, she would only have been out $45.

Being a bank employee for so long - and a Vice President at that - she should have known better.

Maybe she has an alternate ego - like Tyler (it can be a girl's name, too!) Durden or something - and hasn't bumped into her on the subway yet... I'm kidding, of course, but I don't think the whole story has been told...

She was on clark howard Thursday which is how I found out about the story. She said pretty much the same thing the news paper account was on the show.

as far as I know, once you report your debit card stolen, they automatically issue you a new one and close the debit card down. Hell TCF even went above that and asked me if there were any charges I didn't recognize come through.

I'm wondering if it's because she was a former vp that with talking to whoever she called in, they decided since nothing was coming out not to close the card out? That's one possibility.

Well, they mention $45 in UPS goods immediately. Then it says "abut 5 months later [she] noticed money missing from her account" and her son at the same time.... It's just a little weird....

Closing the cards: exactly. I knew someone that left behind a pre-paid debit card and the card was de-activated with 15 minutes and they issued her another one.
