Hi Everyone. I have sent out CD letters to all of my online PDL's as well as debt validation letters. All have been overpaid of course and I really don't expect any of them to give me a refund. Here's the deal though. I asked for PIF's, and for the ones that I still owe some money for the principle I told them I am willing to pay as long as they send me their address. I have not heard from any of them. Not a peep. I have emailed them each 4-5 times and have copies of all the emails I have sent. What do you suggest I do now. I really want the PIF's and I really want to pay off the ones that I still owe a small amount of money to. Any suggestions?

I agree, they will be back. when i defaulted last year i expected the calls to start right away but only one company did that.
i had companies just leave me without a PIF.. i had a verbal PIF, begged them to put it in writing but they never did. since my loans were not legal, i eventually gave up.. they cannot pursue legal action and i over-paid them. i wanted it in writing, i can understand your frustration.

Thanks I appreciate your input. I just want to finish paying off the ones I still owe principle on. It's very little money, but I want to pay them off. I don't really care about the ones that I've overpaid. I have all the documentation on those. But I can't even get the ones I actually owe money to to respond. UGH!!!

Make you wonder doesn't it.

I have a legal one I owe and keep trying to make payment arrangments but they won't work with me. They offered a settlement but when I contacted them to say I accept they replied the offer expired :?

I again tried to set up payment arrangments and then I heard nothing back :x It is frustrating.

Frankly, especially from the internet companies, you may not get an actual PIF letter. The ones you still owe to may give you a bad time and request that you use wire services, etc. to pay them. Or, they'll try to get your new bank information from you. As others have noted, this will all take some time. Just be sure to keep copies of any correspondence, e-mails, etc. that you send or receive. You might also want to keep a log of any telephone calls you make/receive, including date, time, what was said, who you spoke with, etc. Better to keep too much information than not enough. Good luck - there IS light at the end of the tunnel!

there is a company that i did owe money to still on the principal. they are 100% not legal, loans are not legal in my state but i kept trying to make arrangements to pay the principal. i would email them and write them and even call for months, but they would not budge.. they wanted like $600 when all i owed was about $100. this was a company that I have overpaid by literally $1,000.00 in the past so i finally just let it go. i really wanted to do the right thing and settle - i have with other companies, but to me, it was crazy! it's like they rather recieve nothing.
