Help, how do I start
Date: Thu, 04/16/2009 - 17:14
I have 12 storefront payday loans in Arizona. I just lost my job and can not pay all the fees as I have been doing for about 6 months. I was going to call PDL Assistance but after reading many posts have decided to try it on my own. I kinda saw this whole mess coming so when my loans were due two weeks ago I was able to pass off checks from an old bank account to about 9 of the places and was forced to give checks to my other account to the other 4. I closed that other account yesterday and still have one account that I dont have checks on and is safe.
My question is how do I start the process? I am very scared and barley slept last night. They will all start calling me in a few hours asking why I am not at my appointment to extend my loans. WHAT DO I DO? Do I even answer? If so what do I say and what will they say? What do I do after that? I want to do as little damage to my credit as possible and I want to pay them all back I just need a plan. Even though I am jobless I can pay between 500-700 a month to start getting them paid back I borrowed between 450-500 from all of them.
Please help me I feel very alone and unsure about what to do or if I am even doing the right thing. I would appreciate any help more than you could know.

They have started to call me, I didn't pickup. What should I do? All of them except for one is due today. How do I stat this whole process of getting them to accept a payment plan with the least amount of damage? One of my biggest worries is like I said I only afford between 500-700 a month to get them repaid but I have so many of them it would be fine if it were 3 or 4 but I feel so very overwhelmed!

Jeez can anyone please advise me of what to do??
I have now gotten several calls and still haven't picked up because I don't know what to do.
What I need to know asap if nothing else is below.
Should I pickup? If so what should I tell them and what can I expect for responses.
OR
If I should not pickup at this point then what is the next step I should take?
Thanks!
Louis
So I take it you defaulted on all of them? The best thing to
So I take it you defaulted on all of them?
The best thing to do is pick up. Make sure you have paper and pen ready. With so many you are going to want to keep track of who calls and what arrangments can be made.
Are both of your accounts secure? I did not quite understand what you meant by "pass off checks from an old account"?. Was that account open?
I think you need to just speak to them one by one and make arrangments. If they won't make them then move on to the next.
I normally don't suggest it but a debt consolidation company may be your best bet at this point. Since they are all store fronts and all legal and they could try and sue you in civil court.
I don't much about the companies but from some threads on here I have heard that Progressive debt relief is good. Many people seem happy with them.
I would search this site for the different companies and that may help you decide which route to take.
