I have been paying on a collection they have on me and every month i pay the thing they keep reporting month after month a KD on one report and simply an X on the other. Should i just start disputing this?

What I think is that since the account is already reported as delinquent in your credit report, the report will be updated as KD every month till the time you repay the debt in full. Once you repay it in full, it will show as "paid", but it will still show as negative in your credit report for seven years and 180 days from the day you became delinquent. Till the time you pay off the debt in full, the CA will not report it to the bureaus and the bureaus will continue marking "X" each month against the debt.
