I have 3 PDLs and live in IL. None of the companies are licensed here. I called all 3 to try to explain that they were breaking IL laws, but they seemed to think they are exempt and that I had signed away my rights to the laws of my state. They even implied I was acting fraudulently!

Here are the stats:

Arrowhead: 200; pd 60
DJR: 300 pd 90
Titan: 300 pd 90

Should I close my checking account and cancel my direct deposit and try to work out a payment plan?

Thanks, Diane

hello, welcome to the forum.you are right those places are illegal.yes you should close your account and open a new one.some companies will issue a live check for a couple of weeks.i have dealt with arrowhead and they are something else.here is what you owe.

Closed my account, cancelled direct deposit, and faxed letters to the creditors---let's see if they comply.

I will follow up with phone calls to make payment arrangements.

Diane

This is what I got in response to my letter to Arrowhead. They will work out payment arrangements if I don't rat them out. What should I do??? Diane

We received your fax revoking our authorization to debit your checking account. We do wish to resolve your loan account, and will allow you mail in payments via money order or cashier's check, if you agree not to file any complaints against our company. You searched us out and solicited us for our services, as well as electronically signed our loan agreement waiving rights to be governed under your state legislation. The principle balance owed is $200. If you wish set up arrangements, we can split this amount into a few installments and have you mail them in. You may call us at 866-355-7308 or reply to my email.

This letter is to inform you of payment options with DJR GROUP LLC. Please refer to your original loan documents that were emailed when you applied for this loan. You also had a one time Account Summary emailed at the time of your loan approval. If you should need copies, please contact our office.
If you can pay the full balance on your account within 24 hours, you can pay with a credit or debit card.
If you should revoke authorization or close your account, your account is automatically submitted to an outside collection agency. If this should occur, we will no longer be able to discuss your account. You will no longer be a customer of DJR GROUP LLC.

DJR sent me an email offering to work out a payment plan. They are trying to get the full 300, but I explained I already paid 300 and can pay in installments.

Thanks everyone for your help!!
