I need some advice, i had taken out a loan last year for 300.00 with summit group llc. This lasted for 5 months, paying 90.00 every two weeks for a toal of 900 or so in fees and none of it went to the balance, even when i asked and called ahead of time to have more taken out to apply to the original loan amount. I finally had enough, and closed my account after having some very long conversations with them over the phone, those of which got me no where. I closed my account, and sent in letters to revoke any wage assingment i may or may not have signed. I heard nothing for a month or two, them they started calling saying I owed 510.00 and where willing to work out a payment plan, i told them to pound sand. Then it went quite for another month, then i had a place called NRS calling me saying i owed 510.00 as well, i told them to validiate it, then they went quite. Another month later a Bernstein & Associates started calling about the same deal, saying i owed 510.00 as well, now keep in mind I explained to everyone what i had paid so far and my position on this whole deal. I also asked them to validate this debt, once again i got nothing it went quite. Then 3 days ago i get a letter(the first piece of mail reagrding this ever) from NCA(national Credit Adjusters) sating i woe 510.00 and they have purchased this debt and now own it. I called right away and told them to validate it and also told them the whole story up to this point, come to find out, they had owned the account all along and had sent it to the other one that contacted me to collect on it. The person i spoke to let it slip that he doubted that it would get validated at all. What should i do now, i am not going to pay another 510.00 on top of the 600.00 over the orginal 300.00 i borrowed in the first place. Any suggestions from anyone would help me a lot. thanks again

I would do just as you have been doing or better yet ignore them and don't speak with them at all.

I will double check but I beleve Summit is illegal/unlicensed so they can not do anything to you. You also only owe what you borrowed with an illegal company which have done and then some.

I would like to pay my 100.00 loan off instead of having the 30.00 taking every two weeks.

I need some advice from any of the Moderatores here, i originally made the post above and NCA buying an a old PDL i had with Summit Group LLC( i paid back over 900.00 on a 300.00 loan) any way i ask for validation on 4-16 , on 7-11 I get a letter from them with a print out of a generic loan note , it has my info on it, which is not surprising. Long story short i paid way above waht i should have on an illegal loan, does this copy equal to validation? Again, what can happen now, this was an illegal loan, now a collector has purchased it, and now wants $510.00. Please help!!!

I to have encountered an issue with Summit Group LLC. I recently got a loan but shortly after right before my due dates, my purse with checking, id and social was stolen therefor prompting me to close my checking account. I notified Summit and they told me i could only pay what i owe using a prepaid credit card which is rediculous that they have no way to wire funds to them or mail in payment. I emailed them today and have yet to hear a response. What you need to do Mr. Guest is file a CEASE & DESIST LETTER to any collectors or creditors claiming to collect this debt on Summit's behalf. You can easily find a template for a CEASE & DESIST LETTER online. This will stop the harrassments and be sure to mail it certified mail with a return receipt requested. Also, notify the collections agencies that you will only work with the creditor itself and they have no choice but to stop all forms of contact or they can get sued by you. Hope this helps.
