I have read many of these postings and I would like to make sure I understand what I am supposed to do before I start anything in motion. First I live in Ohio, I recently received papers from my employer showing me they have recieved court documents ordering my wages to be garnished for a medical bill. Two things I noticed about the paperwork, first I never received notice about the court hearing second, they filed their paperwork in Toledo, Ohio. It was my understanding since I live in Columbus that they would have to obtain the judgement in the county I live in. Toledo is not in my county. Second it is also my understanding they have to make sure I get served. Is there anything I can do at this point, or do I just have to suck it up and pay this. I am not disputing the bill, I just dont have an extra 3000 buck laying around to pay for it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Act quickly to see when the court date was..i believe your best time frame to motion to vacate judgement is within a short time period from court date..get original papers from court to verify when this was..act quickly though or you will be stuck with it...did you ever live around toledo or lucas county?

No I have never lived in Toledo or ever even been there for that matter. So just to be clear contact the Toledo court to find out about the service. So once they tell me what I know to be true, do I get a document from them and then file in my county or there? Please advise thank you.
