Court System Slow Pay

Hello, I live in TN and was just served a civil summons for an amount that I do owe. I have just not had the funds to make the payments while my spouse is loosing 1 week of pay per month right now. I spoke with a Bankruptcy Attorney but the fee is quite a bit out of my budget right now. The Paralegal told me to go down to the court & file a Slow Pay.

You can actually file bankruptcy yourself, the court system has detailed instructions (with videos). If you cannot afford an attorney, you may be able to qualify for free or discounted legal services (see video #8 by clicking the link).
As far as Slow Pay, check your state Rules of Civil Procedure (for info on the process) and your County Civil Court website for the necessary forms.
