whew...what a load off my mind!

For anyone interested...25% of 36K at 150 days (but before the end of the month when they claim it would go to the charge off office)

now to try to come up with $ for the other card to settle at 25% (and hope they agree to that number)!

How did you negotiate with them?? I have 2 B of A accounts one for $15K the other $16K. They told me to try and settle before June 5 as they would be charged off then. They have only offered my 55% so far. I could settle both at 25% right now if they would do it, in one payment. HELP, tell me how to do it!!

Two weeks ago was the first time they dipped below 50%. (at about 150 days)
I've tried to be completely honest. But I'm always worried they don't believe me.
I basically kept saying that I really appeciated their offers and wanted to jump at them but there was no way I could come up with the money. My balance was so high and my assets/funds were so little.
I applied for their hardship program and got rejected because I couldn't make the payments.
Now for my second card they are pushing the hardship plan again, but that doesn't help me in the slightest. Bankruptcy is out now since my second card "only" as 15K on it.
I've always been really nice to them on the phone.
But I have no idea why they didn't offer anything lower than 50% to me sooner. On the same day, I had someone offer 50% then I called another number regarding my other card and they offered 35% (when the supervisor got on) for both cards! That call didn't end on a good note. I ended up getting snippy and telling the supervisor why I couldn't pay 35%.
Called back yesterday (two weeks later) and with only 5 min of talking went from 35 to 25% (when the supervisor got on).
My husband is self employed and his business tanked. It isn't looking good and we technically are going into the negative every month (which is why we were in so much CC debit to begin with). I mentioned we were looking into bankrupcy. We also don't own a house and don't have much assets (one car) so even if we went to court, they couldn't get much and we'd qualify for Chapter 7.
Lots of luck to everyone. (and myself!)
