You can not go to jail. Debt is a civil matter not a criminal one.

Checksmart is relentless. Have you tried talking with corporate about making payments?

They can sue and get a judgement to garnish but they usually leave it to in house collections.

sharissaragland...I was in the same situation as you very recently...I had defaulted on cashland and checksmart.....cashland worked with me and allowed me 2 months to pay off the loan...as long as I had arrangements they left me alone and never contacted my references. however, checksmart called my references after I was one day late showing up to repay them. granted they did give me a couple of weeks past the due date. If you can in any way get the money together for checksmart I think cashland will work with you. that's my experience anyway....good luck...i hope everything works out for you...

If you have defaulted your best bet is to contact their corporate offices. You may be able to work out a reasonable payment arrangement.

You can ask but they may not do it.

Is they any way that you can make a payment?

Can you ask your boss to have a minute in private and explain the issues are having? Some bosses can be understanding.

Please try to discuss it with your supervisor. Maybe it will help with the calls.
