Can someone tell me if the following are legal/illegal payday loan lenders? Thank you for your help

Online Original Amount
Speedy Cash $500.00
Cashnet Usa $500.00
Discout Advances $550.00
Payday Max $800.00

Store
Check N Go $500.00
PLS $500.00
Advance America $500.00
Checkmate $500.00
Loan Mart $300.00

The store front are all legal but most are members of CFSA which means you can request an EPP, extended payment program.

Cashnet USA is legal. If you revoke the ACH they will make payment arrangments. You must revoke the ACH three business days before it is due to post.

I did not find dicount advances on the database. Payday Max is illegal.

Speedy is a on the database and they are alos a member of CFSA so you should be able to do a EPP with them too.

How do i go about setting up an extended payment plan with these companies? Also do i need to freeze my account and open another bank account or will this get me in more trouble than needed (Dont know the AZ law about closing my account...read about the michigan law and paying three times the check will not work). Thanks again for you help

For the store fronts you must request the EPP one day before the loan is due. In some cases they may not request the first payment that day.

If the store front gives you a hard time them contact corporate. Sometimes the clerks or the managers are not trained on the EPP option or they act like they don't know what it is because they want the full payment.

Since you have an illegal lender then I would close the account and make payment arrangments with the legal lenders.

If you withdrawl the ACH three business days before the loan is due to post then they should not debit so there won't be any returned ACH or check charges.

For the illegal one you only owe what you borrowed. Deal with them later. Handle things with the legal lender first.

nohiogal,

Thanks for all your help on this. I have also read on these boards about getting refunded money from the illegal companies. Is this really possible and has anyone had success with getting money back from paydaymax or discountadvances (i believe both companies are out of gernada (sp?))
