My Debt Settlement Story

I didnt want to file so I researched and entered into a debt settlement program. Well, after 2 years I have one account left to be settled. The co. I used has been thorough and professional and I couldnt have done it without them. I am going to have paid a little over $15,000 to settle the $50,000.

I am wondering if you were a victim of identity theft, or sadly maybe your husband took out these cards in your name and used them? im not understanding how you were unaware of these debts unless it was a identity theft which in case you should not have had to pay any of it even if it was your husband. unless of course like soaplady stated they were joint accounts

CA's will often pursue the spouse on a authorized account...even on accounts they have no priveleges on. No identity theft involved...they just dont bother telling the spouse that they have no liability in the matter.

Thanks for the story either way it is definitely inspirational, but your situation still concerns me a bit.
