PDL and bank disputes

After researching this forum, I ordered copies of my bank statements for the time period that I took out several PDL's. In doing the numbers discoverd that I had overpaid the principle due to the numerous debits they had made. The bank said I can only dispute before 60 days is up.
Ideas????

In many case people have paid way over the amount they legally owe to the unlicensed/illegal companies. There really is no legal recourse to get that money back. You can demand a refund but in most cases you won't get it.
Many are happy with a paid in full statement.

I live in CA and they were illegal PDL companies. I want to dispute the withdrawals with the bank as it's almost 3000.00 that was taken out of my accounts. Yes I overpaid the loans. Your right I know I won't get a refund from the PDL companies but shouldn't the bank be bound to some sort of regulations if these PDL's are illegal? They told me nothing they will do since it's been past 60 days. I didn't know better 60 days ago.

Hello,
I was fortunate to get a refund from BOA on all the debits that were up to 60 days old, but any further back than that they said it was up to the company to give me a refund. I actually did get a refund from one of my payday lenders, which is very rare, but I was happy!!!! Good luck and don't give up. I would continue to pursue the issue with the bank. One of my payday lenders took over $3,000 from me and I wish that I would have pursued it more with the bank. The lender refused to give me a refund and the bank said the debits were too old to refund. My advice to you is to be persistent, it may be in your best interest.
