I have a credit card for students thru Bank of America. Without telling me, they sold me account to FIA card services. I lost my job, i informed FIA once they started calling me that I would send them what I could. The lady told me even if I send in 11 dollars a month, everything would be fine. I sent them 30 dollars, which I had to bum loose change off of everyone I know just to do that. FIA called back as soon as the money was deposited, screaming and cussing me out informing me that 30 dollars wasnt good enough, and then claimed that I was refusing to pay. Now I know Ive been late, but I tried to make payment arrangements or extension to try and make the payments when possible. After trying to talk to this irrate lady from FIA plus her manager, I havent received a phone call from them. The last statement from the FIA rep and manager was that I was refusing to make payments. What should I do?

Glad I never allowed the reps from BofA to talk me into anything. Tried to get me into their hardship program with no income. Family unwilling to help with high amount. Sure my CC is charged off but I am ready to deal with whatever comes my way, thanks to this site. I will be sure to get any settlement in writing before I pay anything and pay by cashier or MO only. Knowledge is power!

Not at all, but I wish you'd consider it. There are some advantages to signing up as a member of our community, though. The ability to send/recieve private messages with other members is one. Helping us keep straight who you are (from the other 473,287 'Anonymous' posters) is another.

Having said that, what's on your mind? We'll help you out however we can. That's what we do, here.

my name is francis. how is everybody doing? ok i signed up with the website to get help with my credit card debt with bank of america/fia. i would really appreciate if anybody could help me with this. i was in debt with bank of america for about $19.000. i was making the payments as promised, but one day i made a payment on the same day as the due date, but they only reveived the payment one day later, wich made the APR go from 12% to 21%. called bank of america, explained to them what happened and asked them if i could have the same APR as before, did not succeed at that. so i stopped making payments, because i would never pay it back with such Apr. they kept calling me for about 2 months, but i did not answer the phone, so they tranfered my debt to FIA. FIA called me, i eventually talked to them, and they settled for an eletronic payment plan of $370 dollars a months for 60 months. they took the first payment on 10/17. im the kind of person who checks my account and my credit card accounts on the internet, so i checked my boa credit card statements online and noticed that indeed the money went to the credit card account, but i was still getting charged for late fess and interest fees, so i got a little worried and called boa, they said that only FIA could help me and look into my account. so after reading a few things in hear, im gonna call FIA today and tell them to send me a later that confirms the payment plan with them. but my question is if they refuse to send me this latter, should i close my account and stop making the payments? i have 2 accounts by the way, 1 boa checking account and 1 citizens bank checking acount. i only use the bank of america acount because i have a car loan with them, they take the money out of the account automatically, so 2 days before they take the money, i put the right amount in there, so there isn't any extra money in the account, so they don't steal it or something . what else you think i sould do? any advice is really appreciated. thank you.
