Good luck, they are not fun to deal with but be persistent! They will annoy you, call and email you like crazy. Just make sure you know your state's laws and your rights and don't let them bully you! I got a Paid in Full but not for the values I was disputing, made it seem like the "forgave" way more then I ever owed them but it is a PIF none the less.

thank you all for your help. Does anyone have a name of a contact person? I can not seem to get anywhere - I have written and faxed them and even forwarded the ceast and desist letter via e-mail and they continue to try and debut my account (my bank is good - they stop it from going through and do not charge me any fees etc.)

Hi Hanna and all:

Just wondering if you heard/obtained this information

I called Eastside (I have not been able to find them anywhere - no secretary of state has them listed or their afflifiates etc) and asked for the name and address of their legal dept. I was given Rizzo Holdings, 2711 Centerville Road - Suite 120-5900 Wilimington, DE

Not sure if this is ligit as a could not find a phone number and the secretary of state it looks like it is a dissolved co.

i have a $300 loan from them since March, 2009 and they charge a total of $450 in my account. I closed my bank account because some charges like identity theft was charged to my account, and haven't ordered them. I checked the legal payday loan in the state of California and found out that they don't have a license. So even, if they tried to get you by their collection agency, I would say that they cannot force you to pay, and just complain them to the Better Business Bureau. They are illegal

I have an outstanding loan with Eastside. The original amount was $400 and I took the loan out the end of December-- I have paid them almost $900 to date (my balance has been reduced by $150--$50 is now going towards principal)

I am in Ohio--this loan is killing me--any suggestions as to negotiating with them--maybe a monthly payment instead of every 2 weeks--has anyone done this??

Hello everyone:

I am a resident of MA. First of all, payday loans are not technically illegal in MA. They are illegal if the interest charged is above 23%. This info came directly from the Division of Banks with whom I spoke. Secondly, if the interest is illegal, then they simply cannot charge you because it breaks the usury state law of small loans under $6,000 and falls under the criminal usury statute. Look up that on-line and you can send the information to them. :)~

Send all documents including emails in a package to the Attorney General's Office. If you have paid far more in interest than would be owed even if 23% was applied to your debt, then you owe nothing more. Close your bank account, send a cease and desist letter, and don't ever give any personal information when the company calls if you happen to answer the phone. If they're calling you constantly, then they know your information.

Be persistent, learn your facts and throw them in their greedy, cheating, crooked faces. DON'T GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. IF YOU DO HAVE DEBT, THEN DON'T USE A PERSONAL CHECK TO PAY OF ANY PROPOSED DEBT. TELL THEM VIA POSTAL US CERTIFIED MAIL THAT YOU'LL ONLY PAY VIA MONEY ORDER. You don't want them to get any more personal information. Fax them your cease and desist with just your phone number and your name.

Eastside Lenders are not operating legally in any other state but Delaware. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. They actually deposited money in my account when I didn't officially sign a contract. I got a phone call saying I was pre-approved, but I never called back. The next day the money was in my account. I sent an email and they did not respond. After a month battling with these jerks, this lady by the name of Regan finally sent me a notice of the debt, but no interest and no signature was on it! There was no contract. They had already withdrawn $420 out of the $700 deposited. I tried to give them back the rest, which is $280, but they say they don't accept money orders and they refused to validate my disputed debt. They lie and they will not stop lying and stealing peoples' money. Every Attorney General should get on them and somehow catch them. They are terrible.
