This is what i read in an article about what's in your credit report. Does anyone know how safe this information is from other people? Is there a law or something that covers you if this information is "stolen" from you and used by other people? I mean besides identity theft situations, those take years to clear up it seems and i was wondering if something existed to protect you immediately?

Thanks,
Daniel

There are federal laws that protect your identity and prevent it from being used for illegal purpose. But, if this type of situation occurs, a lot of things can be done to prevent our identity if we take the stand from our side first.

The laws are there to protect us but since it is our identity, if we are more active towards safeguarding it, a lot of results can be seen immediately.
