As some of you probably know, I'm a huge Star Trek nerd!

I am so excited about the new movie opening tomorrow! Anyone else have any plans of seeing it?

I hate going to the movies so I will wait until it is out on DVD.

I love Star Trek too. I was in love with Captain Kirk as a girl but SNG is my favorite. I have all the seasons on DVD. I was just watching episodes last night.

I also have the movies on DVD but I have to say I like the tv episodes more.

When my ex passed he left a LARGE comic collection that we have been slowly logging. We found Star Trek comic books. THe old ones with Kirk and Spock in them. Pretty neat :D

Yes, I'm going to be seeing it on IMAX too! I didn't realize they had put one in the theaters in my local mall until about two weeks ago. I was making one of my rare trips there and noticed the sign on the outside.

I usually have problems with crowds too; however, a Star Trek movie is the one exception that I'll make!

Comic Books. Don't talk to me about comic books. I had some old ST comic books too; however, when I was in the Navy, my mother threw them all out. Along with TONS of Star Trek and Star Wars collectibles. So who knows how much they would have been worth these day.

I have to work today but I'll be there Saturday. Can't wait! I've been keeping tabs on this for a couple years now and the anticipation is killing me. Have to go by myself though cuz the wife can't stand it. I have every episode of every series including the new ones they've done with the retro '60's look.

Well the ones we have are for sale if you are interested.

I can list what we have. I know the oldest one is from the 1967-1979 run and is issue #22. They really are not worth that much. The #22 in MINT condition is worth about $40 but I know the one we have is not mint. Not bad but not mint. The others would be quite a bit less.

In fact I think every actor filled the shoes of the previous actors extremely well. I loved how one of the scenes looked like it was taken out of Serenity, where the alliance is waiting for Serinity to show up and they do with a crapload of reavers trailing behind them.

Just got back from seeing it!

Fan-Freakin-Tastic!

I'm glad they found a way to reboot the franchise and I hope we see more movies with the current cast.

Simon Pegg was great as Scotty! I've been a big fan of his since "Shaun of the Dead" so I was interested to see his take on Montgomery Scott. I think Karl Urban did a spot-on Dr. McCoy. He sounded so much like Deforest Kelley without making it sound too much like him.

If that makes sense.

All-in-all, a great movie and I will be seeing it a few more times while it's still in theaters!
