I know things should only stay on your report for 7 years. My question is do you go by the date opened or the date reported? also is there a time frame a creditor has to report it on your credit report? like this. I have one on my report that says date opened 10/15/2003 and date reported 04/08/2009
The negative item stays on your credit file for seven years and
The negative item stays on your credit file for seven years and 180 days from the date your became delinquent on the debt.
Date reported would be the last time they updated the tradeline.
Date reported would be the last time they updated the tradeline. Most OC's report monthly. I would expect you should see that date change again w/in the next few days. Is this a derogatory tradeline? Is it the OC or a CA?
