I received a phone call today at my home from 866-618-5732. The call was supposed to be from Attorney Rodney Jovi's office. I can't find any information on this law office. Has anyone ever heard of him? It was in relation to a Check n Go loan that this office says I never made the last payment on, but I believe it was paid off and it was over 2 years ago when the loan ended. The person that called went on to say it was in pre-litigation and when I requested documentation he said if that was my stance on the matter they would go ahead and litigate. So I said OK.


Yikes, Check n Go is a Legal storefront and online lender. They have the rights to pursue the loan in civil court :?

What state are you in? You may need to go through your files and see if you have any receipts of payment from them.

I had the name wrong in the first post. I thought these guys were closed down. Does anyone have any current contact information for them?

Called again last night and I was told that I had enough time to do my research and that I owed money. When I again requested documentation he said he would send a VOE to my HR department at work. I said go ahead and he hung up.

Yea I have been getting calls from GIOVE Law Office, also for check N go. Yes I still owe but this guy hasn't sent any formal paperwork on his law office. He tells me if I dont pay up they will garnish my husbands checks. All I want is a letter from them. How do I now if they are just stealing info from my credit report or something and they just want money..

I had an account with check N go and I got a call from the GIOVE Law Office, and I set up payments. They took out the 564 dollars that was owed on the account. Now I cant get in contact with the company the number I have just rings. I called check-n-go and they still show I owe the 564. It wasnt until today I googled the company and saw all the post about this being a fraudulent company.

next time you recieve a phone call from them, ask them, or fax them a request for them to "Validate" your debt. They are required by law to provide the following if requested:
What the money you say I owe is for;

Explain and show me how you calculated what you say I owe;
Provide me with copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say I owe;
Provide a verification or copy of any judgment;
Identify the original creditor, address and phone number;
Prove the Statute of Limitations has not expired on this account;
Show me that you are licensed to collect in my state;
Provide me with your license numbers and Registered Agent

and failure to provide this information, results in a deletion of the debt. If the do not delete the account, or keep on harrassing you, then you can sue them for defamation of character.
