How are they showing in your CR? as a company that brought the debt? Or just someone that inquired? Also if it's showing as someone that brought the debt, at the end of your CR is a listing of all companies that are listed/or have looked at your debt. It should list address/phone numbers.

It shows as a collection account, reported in 2003. They are not listed in the creditor info section, but one or two others were not as well. They are NOT the original creditor so I assume they bought it.

do you know who the oc is? does the oc still show up on your credit file? collections are supposed to be reported 7 ys + 180 days from date of first delinquency that led up tothe current status...with that said, if you know who the oc is and they are NOT showing up, then dispute collection agency with credit bureuas..check your state sol to see if they can pursue this matter in court. if outta sol, them atleast they can't get a judgement against you. personally, i would send a debt validation letter requesting the info on the accounts..
