yes they could reinsert it again, however, the credit bureau must notify you 5 days(i believe) before doing that. if the oc sends appropriate validation of the debt to the cra then yes it may be reinserted..look up reinsertion in the fair credit reporting act..its in there under the section about disputes i think..

I looked up reinsertion and ur right about 5 days but credit bureau must notify the consumer within 5 days AFTER reinsertion so no heads up. I wonder if i should pay the debt to original creditor in the meantime but i don't want it to show up as a paid collection later on. Also, theres the middleman/collection agency. Im guessing the original creditor will send the money to collection agency and its up to collection agency to report it as they see fit.

Did you file your disputes online? If so, they may have just suppressed the tradeline during the investigation. It is possibel that it would show back up if the data furnisher updates. That would not be reinsertion.

Yes, I did dispute the collection online. What's the best way to stop it from showing up again. It's an old cell phone bill. Should I send the payment to phone company or to collection agency or leave it be?

Cell phone contracts should fall under the UCC SOL so this is beyond the time they can file suit but federal reporting time limit is 7 years +180 days from the Date of First Default so if it does show back up, it sounds like that would be perfectly legal per the FCRA. Who is the CA?

Yea, ur right about 7 years. I wonder if I can pay off the amount before theres a chance to validate information. Maybe I should try contacting credit bureaus to figure out why the collection was deleted.

When you disputed, did the 2 that deleted notify you that they were deleting or did they just disappear off your reports? If the data furnisher did not respond w/in the 30-45 day time limit, then deletion would be automatic. However, as I stated earlier, with an online dispute, the CRAs can suppress the tradeline during the 30-45 days and if the data furnisher verifies of updates, it could show back up again. I would not recommend paying it unless you have a PFD or Non-Disclosure Agreement in place.

Thanks again for ur time. All three of them have deleted the account. They notified me by email of the investigation results and I signed in to view the results and credit reports for all three of them. They all took approximately 30 days to complete the investigation. I don't have any sort of agreement with OC or CA so I'll hold out for now and see if the account shows up again. I really hope not.

Just keep monitoring your reports. Truecredit will allow you to update TU daily and EX and EQ monthly for $14.95. Definately worth it during credit repair.
