Disputes and Removals

I recently made settlement payments to 7 accounts. All of which have been sent to collection agencies.
I paid the collection agencies an agreed settlement amounts One credit bureau is for the most part correct except for one account which shows a balance. It should not be there because it was settled. This account is read the same on all three bureau's but two bureau's have more than one account wrong. They show balances and do not show they have been settled. .
Here is the question I have. Do I send dispute letters to each bureau only disputing whats wrong on their report?
I heard if you file for a dispute and they do not respond in 30 days that they have to remove it from your credit report? Is this true? Lets say one account is correct in bureau but the other two are wrong. I send dispute letters to the two and they do not respond. Will all three credit bureau's remove this account from my report.
The other question is. The seven accounts that I have. I heard that you can call your accounts to ask them to have it removed from your credit report or change it to a good report? Is this true? Does it work? Will I be able to get rid of the 7 accounts that were closed, sent to collection agencies then paid off through settlement agreements? If so, who do I call?, the collection agency, or the actual accounts like, bestbuy, levitz, chase, citi.... etc? Can anyone help me on this please?

Yes, you should dispute it with the two bureaus pointing out the wrong information. As per the FCRA, both the creditors/CA and the CRAs should correct wrong info from your report. Once you dispute it with the bureaus, they should investigate it within 30 days and remove the wrong info. If they do not remove, you can file a complaint with the FTC.
