Dell Preferred Account
Date: Fri, 05/15/2009 - 17:15
I recently spoke with a CA about this account, and they told me that the account was secured by the purchases and that if I did not make an arrangement with them I would have to surrender the computer equipment that was charged on the account. I really do not have too much of a problem with this, as the systems were all purchased several years ago and are so old they are almost useless. BUT, I only have one laptop left that is barely functioning. There were two other desktops that failed a couple of years ago and were out of warranty, so I discarded them. What I would really like to know is if anyone has had to surrender their comps to Dell, and what they do if they are no longer available.
Thanks

I am honestly not sure who the collectors were. I have already retained a bankruptcy attorney for chapter 7, so I just gave them his contact info. That was when they informed me about havine to reaffirm the debt or surrender the items. I was just curious if this was accurate or just grandstanding. Either way, they can have what I still have in my possession. If that is not good enough, they can sue me and will get a judgement, however, in Florida they cannot garnish my wages as Head of Household, and I have no property that they can put a lien on except for a 10 year old car with 180,000 miles and a bad transmission.
