Say you have 7-8 creditors, 100K debt, what is your phone ringing off the hook all day everyday? I just wonder, when you have company and the machine kicks on with these people begging for money on the machine. How many calls a day do you get? Do you just shut all ringers off except on days when you will field calls and use cell phone mainly??
Also, after settlement, and you've moved things to a new bank, does this mean we'll never be able to have an ATM card again? Are you tarnished that way?? Curious....
Thanks...

Firstly, the creditor need to sent you a DV notice within 5 days
Firstly, the creditor need to sent you a DV notice within 5 days of initial correspondence in order to claim the debt if the initial correspondence is over phone. If they do not send you any notice, but still harass you over phone, you may file a complaint with the FTC. Now, if they send you a DV notice, you should ask for debt validation within 30 days from the date of receipt of the notice and the creditor has to stop the process of debt collection till the time they validate the debt.
If your old bank account is closed, you will not be able to use the ATM card associated with the old account again. But if you do not close the old account, you may continue using it.
