i tried to settle my four biggest credit card debts,2 for 12000 with boa,1 chase for 8500 and 1 juniper for 8500 while keeping my 4 smaller cards with balances from 2000 to 3800 current untill i get through with these?i am overextended and cannot do this anymore. This would free up about 800 a month.Thank you

Are you saying you've tried to settle and they are refusing to? It will take a bit before you actually get sued. Most likely they will settle before they would take it to court. They accumulate more cost by doing so. Now, I'm not saying that they won't take you to court. Just saying that it makes since that they would be willing to settle before taking it to court.

Haven't tried yet, still current on all cards, trying figure out how to go about this. Those four accounts make up the bulk of my debt.Getting those settled would allow me to get back on track and pay the remaining accounts off in full,as they amount to about 10-12 thousand total. Also would help me credit wise as i try to recover.I would be looking at 4 past due accounts as opposed to 8 or 9.If i was to run into trouble i could file bk,but don't really want to do that if i can possible avoid it.
