I don't qualify for any credit unions in my area and my savings bank does not offer secure cards.

I've looked on BankRate.com however I am looking for people's opinions and experiences on what the best secured card is to get.

Thanks!

I've been looking around for Secured CC's, myself. However,..( no doubt, because of todays economy..) that the Secured Cc's have a very high % rate, as well. I know a Secured CC would help my credit. But...do I really want to pay the % rate on some of them ( thinking outloud here)? I've been looking into Applied CC.........I think it was The Credit Cowboy who first suggested it on this forum. Has anyone used it? Does anyone have experience with it?

I appricaite everyone's help with this. i was looking at the Applied CC website some time ago. The more I re-search it, the more I'm 'leaning toward' getting one. Do Secured CC's REALLY help your credit, as much as they claim?

While shopping around (im a student and want to try a secured card first) i found a few popular credit card companies that offer some like bankofamerica who i just applied with as well as citibank. Doing a search should bring them up! While i haven't experienced it myself, my sister who had dug herself quite the hole managed to better her credit by 45-50 points in a bout a year with the secured card she had. She has since closed them and accepted offers from other companies with better rates and higher limits.
