recieved so called validation back for medical debt. It looks like it was printed on microsoft word. There is no company letterhead. It just has my daughters name, the so-called dos, and the amount. Is this proper validation? I asked for proof of ownership or assignment. Proof of a valid business agreement in accordance with hippa, and the signed agreement with the OC and myself. What should I do?

A CA is not required to provide any of these. Sec 809 of the FDCPA gives a very broad interpretation of what constitutes validation. Personally, I would not accept it. Does the provider still own the debt? If so, go to them and deal directly with them.

So I spoke with the hospital and they said that the CA is only assigned the debt, but I would need to pay the CA and not the hospital, and that they wont do anything about my credit until the balance is paid in full $720. What should I ask them in exchange for payment? I told them that I can only pay $50 per month, and the hospital mgr said he will contact the CA and have them call me
