I called them and asked if I could put a freeze on my report so no one could look at it. They said sure for $2 it will make it so no one at all can look at it unless I give them permission.
Ok, pay over the phone with my bank card. Luckily my online bank account updates almost in real time.
While I'm on the phone I see the $2, two seperate $1 charges and a $12.95 charge. So I asked this funny speaking SOB whats the $12.95 all about. She said she can't access the information that tells her what it is for.
I said look, you're the only person I gave my card info to YOU had to have put that on there, no, no ,no.
Ok call #2 I ask why I'm being charged the $12.95, oh it looks like you signed up for whatever service. I said I want that removed, I did not sign up for that, ok no problem it will be removed.
Bank account shows $14.95 and two more $1 charges.
I call again and ask to speak to a supervisor, I was asked why, I explained, they put me on hold. 20 minutes. Guess what, there goes an $8.95 charge on my account. I hang up.
Call back and demand a supervisor NOW how long is the wait?! Two minutes, I said BS I was just waiting for 20 and hung up WTF is going on with you people.
Ok two minutes I GET AN AMERICAN ON THE PHONE! Finally.
I said I want all my money back, explained everything. She said every call I made to them had a service added to it.
She basically refunded all of the charges except for the $2 which I don't think is even worth the trouble.
What is wrong with people these days, they obviously shipped their call center to india. And the people there did nothing but rip me off. Equifax ripped me off!
Is the whole world out to take your money or what.

Sounds like they signed you up for Triple Advantage (I think that's EQ). I'm trying to find the link but you can freeze any of your reports for a fee and I think it's free if you are a victim of IDT. Not sure what state you're in but here's a link.

Well the reason I called was to put a freeze (or lock) on the account so no junk debt collectors could access it. I don't know if they can, but when I tried to get my free credit report it said an attempt was made to access my report in the last 30 days. I know darn well it wasn't me.
I called and they said for $2 they could lock the account so NO ONE could look at it.
I asked, so no one, not debt collectors, no one at all? and this costs two dollars?
They said yes. So I paid. I never agreed to the other charges or services. Plus I was lied to because I later read right on their site that this lock does not prevent debt collectors from accessing my credit report.

I had my wallet stolen at work. DLs, SS cards, all of it. I called the CB's and put a 'freeze' on my account. The 'freeze' din't cost me anything and I had the 'freeze' on there for 6 months. Yes.........OP, it sounds like they signed you up for something else....obviously without your permission.
