new app for amex optima card

i just received an app for an amex optoma card and i used to have them yrs ago like the 80`s ii always paid it off monthly and its like a 49$ annual fee rite now. i can do it on line. they gave me a special code to put in so it will go thru faster. is this a trick or what?
