Hey everyone, I just got a call from a recovery firm for National Pay Day Loan. They stated that they are going to start litigations or wage garnishment from my check. I am in NC and know Paydayloans are illegal. Can you give me any advice on what to do?

Thank you,

So I did a little research after I listened to the message on my cell phone again. The company that called was the Law Office of Norman Colina phone # 201-678-8855. I found that this company is in Hackensack, NJ; however when I go to law firms in the yellow pages there is no such company. Anyone have in dealings with this so called Law Office?

this place must think you are stupid.two points

1)pdl's are totally prohibited in NC
2)even if they were legal NC is a non-garnishment state.

file AG,FTC andBBB complaints in that order.they know they are illegal and try to scare you.also file the complaints against the huckster playing attorney.they can do nothing but threaten stupidly.

Thank you! That is what I thought but I just wanted confirmation. Most of the ones that I have sent letters to have stopped bugging me or am just waiting for the opportune time. I just resent my letter to NPDL through their contact form and I will be filing my complaints of all my payday loans.

Thanks again.

i sent an email to NPL demanding they mark my account paid in full and i used one of the letters found on this website. they replied back that since i went through all that trouble to send a letter that was obviously a template that i must really be in financial distress and they closed the account PIF.

So I just got another call from this recovery company... It is actually ACA Recovery.. Anyone deal with them. They are stating they are taking me to court for National PayDay Loan when I know for a fact that it is not possible. She said that since I knew about this being illegal that it was fraud. Opinions anyone?
