Can anyone tell me if United Cash Loans is legal in RI? I have a $500.00 loan with them that I have paid $370 to date - I sent them a letter revoking my ACH and told them I would only pay them the balance of $130 - I have closed my checking account and opened a new one - they call me every day and won't take no for an answer. I also told them they were not to contact me or my references by phone but they don't seem to listen since I am getting calls every hour from them on both my home, office and cell - HELP

RI does not require an IPDL to be licensed in the state of RI, however, they MUST be licensed SOMEWHERE. So, as long as they are licensed, they are legal...RI is one of the few states that does this. I called the DFI.

If they are not licensed anywhere, then RI check cashing laws abide.
