Hi! Just checking to see if anyone here is familiar with this number and knows who it might be?
Thanks!!! shirley

866-822-6756

I keep getting phone calls from 866-8226756 saying it is from the law offices of Gatswirth and Mirsky, but when I answer, a voice tells me to leave a message and then hangs up, and if you call back it is always busy. Call 866-8226749 and you can talk to someone. they are looking for people owing money, and will take you off their calling list if you are not the one they are looking for.

I have been receiving calls to my cell phone almost every evening for the last 2 weeks. It states that the call is from Gatsworth and Mershki (don't have a clue if the spelling is right). Using the numbers posted for Oxford Management, I was able to reach someone who gave me the correct callback number. Gatsworth may be reached at 866-822-6749.

Good luck!

This number is owned and operated by "Oxford Management", a debt collection agency.

I just got a call from them. Of course it was on my cell phone. I dont pick up calls that I dont recognize. I am sure its a debt that I have thats been sold.I make sure they know I do not pay debts over the phone with out PAPER proof of the debt that I owe. For all I know they could be pulling a fast one on me.

I've been getting the same calls as you guys, but haven't been answering. I found the phone number on this forum from my cell phone caller ID, and I get at least 4 of them a day. Of course, I also know better than to answer phone calls from toll free numbers because they never turn out to be something good.

I did a little research on this company. The CEO & President of this company is Mr. Peter C. Pinto. He personally donated $13,000 (in separate $2000 donation amounts) to the RNC Campaign for Cheney & Bush in 2004. I also discovered that his FAMILY donated ANOTHER $14,000 to the RNC at the same time, although it was clearly a shell front for Oxford Management Services.

These are only the ones I could find in a quick search. Let's connect the dots, shall we? Mr. Pinto donates roughly $27K to the RNC for Bush to get re-elected. Then the Republican Majority, shortly after the election, makes draconian changes to the Bankruptcy laws that were favorable to big businesses and to collection firms like Oxford Management Services.

Now, there's nothing illegal about this, especially when you've bought off a politician or two. But I just figured we should really all know who helped open the door to this sort of harrassment. And that $27K is WAY more than any debt I have. Rich people getting richer at our expense. . . again.

What we need to do is find out Mr. Pinto's personal phone numbers so he can get some wonderful harrassing phone calls of the same ilk. Any ideas? Comments?

I have been receiving the same call now several times a day for a week now, on my cell phone during prime time! :-(. The first step I took is to go to https://www.donotcall.gov/register and register my #. We should continue to try to track this company and stop it. It is annoying and costs me $'s too, in my case.

IF this call is a collection agency, then registering with the do not call list will not stop the calls. the only way to stop them is to deal with the situation talk to them and find out what they want and take care of it, or send them a cease and desist letter.

If it is a Collection agency and you choose to send them a cease and desist letter, be prepared for them to call your bluff and possibly take you to court to recover what they are looking for.

I have also been receiving numerous calls per day from this phone no. It always is on my caller i.d. when I get home from work. We have no debt and do not owe anyone any money. I was home today when they called, and a recording kept saying not to hang up, that it was an important phone call and was not a sales call. I waited a very long time. The man asked for Bonny Tilly, which is the same person they always ask for. I told them I had asked them before not to call here, that they had the wrong number. The man got very nasty with me, and tried to tell me that they had NOT called here before, that they only got their phone number yesterday. I then asked his name, and the name of the company, and he wouldn't give it to me. Then he hung up on me. Makes me wonder when someone calls my home numerous times and then won't even tell me who they are.

I keep getting calls from this "Oxford Management Services" like the rest of you, and I don't know why. I keep getting calls on my cell phone. I'm only 15. I don't know why they'd be trying to contact me.

They've been calling my number for nine - that's right 9 - years. The company that had the number before me skipped out on a bunch of bills. Not even my attorney could get to these people. Cingular won't block the number. My attorney filed harassment complaints. Nothing works. I've been told to just delete the calls. Luckily they haven't hit my cell phone yet. Good Luck. If anybody ever finds a way to get to these morons, Post it please.

First of all, being a professional corporate credit manager/collection manager,I find this company is in direct violation of FCC/ and FTC law. They are required to ask for a person directly. They are required to give the company name, and a "live" return number. That's the law folks: Federal law 95-109. They violate sections 802/803/804. Plus your individual state has similar laws and in some cases more stringent effect to this lawlessness.

Sections 802, 803 and 804 don't say anything pertinent to this situation.

But consider section 806, line 5 of THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT

-------------------------------------------------
806. Harassment or abuse [15 USC 1692d]

A debt collector may not engage in any conduct the natural consequence of which is to harass, oppress, or abuse any person in connection with the collection of a debt. Without limiting the general application of the foregoing, the following conduct is a violation of this section:

(5) Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number.
https://www.ftc.gov/enforcement/rules/rulemaking-regulatory-reform-proceedings/fair-debt-collection-practices-act-text#805

I would say that is EXACTLY what the company from that number is doing. I get a call from that number at LEAST once a day (often two or three) to both my cell phone and work phone, and they never leave voice mail.

The number you are refering to is a collection company. The have been ONLY calling my cell phone now for 3 weeks. Always in the morning, always the same automated message. Answered today and found it was an old debt from Ford Motor Co that was years ago and already satisfied.

I've been getting 2-3 calls a day now asking me to call back 1-866-716-9863. It's never a live person either. It's a recording saying:

"The following is not a solicitation call. This is concerning a personal business matter. Please call us at 1-866-716-9863 between the hours of 8am to 10pm EST Monday through Thursday, on Friday 8am to 7pm, and on Saturday 8am to 1pm EST."

I moved into my house a year ago, but the calls started about 3 months ago. I don't even know how this debt collection agency got my phone number - I transferred it over from my apartment when I moved. I filed a complaint with the FCC since I'm on the "Do Not Call List". Let's see what happens...

I was receiving calls daily from 866-822-6756 telling me to call 866-716-9863. So I finally called them and they were wanting a person that I didn't know. They wanted to know the residence of the phone and I told them it was a cell phone and can't understand how they got that number. I told them to stop calling for it would be turned over for legal matters. They said it would take 24 hours to get it out of the system and I haven't had a call since, been a week now and so I hope it is done! I figured that the 822 number is a computerized number and when I called the 716 number and talked to a person, was a good thing. I also told them that if they called again, I would call them back everytime they called me and tell them to get my name off of their list!

I filled with the following government agencies:
www.bbb.com
www.ftc.gov
www.fcc.gov

You might want to do the same and add more complaints until one of these agencies takes away their number ((866) 822-6759)

If you tired of these people calling you call them back and make them pay .55.

3. What is payphone surcharge? And what if people called from a payphone?
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has adopted a surcharge on toll-free calls placed from payphones. This charge is collected on behalf of the payphone service providers and will be remitted to them. Therefore, if your 800/888 number receives a call from a payphone it will result in an additional charge of $0.55 per call.

I called these people today at 1-952-926-6547 in referance to the post posted by oms. They told me, yes Oxford managment system is associated with them. They are a member. They are sending out a complaint form to me. (email per my request) I then fax it back to them and they will follow up on this issue. We will see.
They have been calling me for months looking for some one who does not live here. I keep telling them that this person does not live here and that they are violating my rights by continuing to call. They told me they have every right to call. I asked to speak with a manager and he was even uglier to me than the lady that originated the call was.

My 12 year old son keeps getting calls on his cell phone from Oxford Management. Everytime he hands the phone to me, then a person finally answers and I tell them that Thomas Stokes, does not have this number they hang up on me. They never let me finish or say they will remove my son's phone number. I finally spoke to a live person today, who mad me so mad, I yelled and swore at her, she then told me that she does not need to listen to me. I called back and spoke to another person, who was very rude but said he would remove the number. Let's see. Here is the live number to call them back 800-722-0248. Ask for Derek, Kim or Katherine and give them hell.

This is why I don't want to call them! I feel like I'm wasting my time since there's a high probability they won't stop the calls anyway.

Good tip about the payphones. It's payback time - if I can only find a payphone...

Looks like the BBB isn't going to do anything with the Oxford management services since:

She (Joan Kozak) is currently the President of the Better Business Bureau of the Northeast and Central Pennsylvania Better Business Bureau.

How convenient.

Hey I talked to the FTC and filed a complant, but they can not investigate unless enough people call and file complants. The FTC's # is 877-382-4357 and when they ask the reference # for the complaint is 9238150. If enough people call they will investigate. If you know how to get rid of them please share the info!

i believe 623-643-2996 is discovery, the credit card. i finally got ahold of them a while back, i don't remember how, i might have called that number back? anyway, i told the man i didn't know why they were calling me. he ran a search in the computer for my name, address, phone number, and social security number, and found nothing. at the time, i was also under 18, so i couldn't possibly get a card from them. they keep leaving voicemails to call a certian number, but when i try, it asks for my discovery card number, which i don't even have.
they still call me. no idea why.

We all just got new cellphones and the number 1-866-822-6756 will not quit calling my 11 year old daughter's Migo phone (you know the kind you get children for emergencies that can only dial 4 numbers). I am told the only way to stop it is to change the number which will cost me money! We don't even owe anyone any money (old or new). This is just harrasment to the wrong person!

Got a call today from this
number,623-643-2996 and the girl said her name was "Mercedes" and she was calling for my husband (called him by name). Of course I have to ask who's calling & she said she was with Discover & it was about his card. He doesn't have one. She then mentioned the last 4 digits of a social security number (not his) & an address (also not his). Said she would delete number from database. I'm fixing to call Discover and see if they use that number...

Someone at this number 1 800 392 3100 is planning to sue us for the amount we owe of seven thousand seven hundred dollars ...This is for an unpaid bill that we had with union bank credit card. IT started in collections in may of 06 and we did not respond to their repeated calls and now in febuary 07 we are being sued..An attorney named Douglas Radcliff is suing us he wants us to pay them the 7700 dollars we owe by the 19th of febuary...This is not possible. We are willing to make monthly payments i told him but he does not want to hear it..Do you think this is legit? Do you think they really are going to take us to court? They said that someone is going to show up at our house in a few days...We do want to pay this i lost my job in may and i was the one paying it..Its my fathers account though he is disabled from a stroke and he has a pension he gets every month for 1400. THey are really scaring me...What can they actually do? Can they touch his bank account? We are willing to make payments in increments montly but they dont want to hear it...He sounds very threatening...I feel so bad for my father since i got him into this i kept putting it off till now...The collection agency was atlantic express who gave it over to this attorney...My friend says its a scame that they are all the same thing...i need feed back please..If we show up at court what can they actually do to us? "623-643-2996 Is discover card collections. If they are calling you owe have a past due balance with Discover "

Not true at all. We have not had a Discover card in about 10 years. The one we had was paid off monthly and was cancelled with no balance due (I still have the final bill).

I would love to know what they want, but all I get is a recording that repeats 3 times then hangs up. They don't leave a phone number. I tried calling the number shown above, but it won't go thru.
