I received notices today from the state department of licensing that Bishop, White, Miersma & Marshall PS made an inquiry on my vehicle to the department of licensing. I have not had any contact with these people. No letters. They apparently called once (Caller ID), but did not leave a message. I do have some debts I'm working on resolving, but I don't know who these people are representing or what their trying to do. What does it generally mean when a collection agency/law firm makes an inquiry like this? Thanks for an insights provided.

Are they a LEGIT company? I thought Lawyers/companies aren't allowed to do anything like that without the consent of the OP.

I'm not sure what more I can tell you. I have not received any kind of dunning letter from this agency. I've only seen their phone number once on my caller ID.
Yes, I have some delinquent debts, so I'm sure they're probably looking to collect on something, I just don't know what. Do you think maybe their checking my assets to decide if it's worth their while to sue or just send me a settlement offer? Just seems odd that I've not heard from them except one call with no message.

If the debts are of larger amounts and your vehicle(s) is valued at higher than 10K this company has pretty much laid out what they are looking for. Since you have not received any letters directly from this company it could be a great time to find someone you TRUST and change names on vehicles along with either withdrawing the money or having it placed in someone an account owned by someone else who does not have you listed on the account period.
