was this an internet loan and why do they classify their loan as an installment loan and not a pdl?

A payday loan is a single installment loan due on your next payday. (Of course, most will be more than happy to let you "refinance" by paying just the principal.) An installment loan is a multiple payment loan where part of each payment reduces the principal.

Excuse me. I should have said they'll let you pay just the interest, not the principal.

I just did some checking with this company and they are identifying themselves as an actual payday loan. I am not sure what they are telling you, but pdl laws do apply to this company.

Everyone, thank you so much for the quick replies and helpful information. I received a semi-threatening email from them today. Looks like they like to play hardball. I have overpaid them by hundreds of dollars over the course of a few loans. I plan to demand a refund and will be filing the proper complaints.
