Need Help being threatened with Jail

So many memebers on this site have been threatend with the same thing, including myself and yes it scared the crap out me and that's how I found this site. They are just trying to scare you into paying them this money and everything they are saying to you is so illegal.

You should also file a complaint with the Lousiana AG's office as well. If you google Louisiana Attorney General on the left hand side is a link for Complaint form that you can submit online.

I live in washington state and the "collecter" is from california and had a bad acent and even had the nerve to ask me if I understood and sopke english because i didnt understand him
He threatend to send investigators to my work and take me to jail and I better be prepared with bail money. He also said he cannot accept payments from me because he is in the federal legal dept and they are not to give oppertunities to pay the loan back. on the other hand he then told me to fax a letter sayin I am not trying to run out on the money owed and ask the sr officer for payments. He also told me to put my debit card info on the fax so they can take my money. he said if i did not do it in 20 min. then I better be ready to go to jail today. The company name was financial accountability association. ferderal legal dept. and another person said financial accounting services. I got a man named Sam and mac doson. He also would not give me the name of the lender or when the loan was originated. he said he deals with hundreds of lenders but that after my debt was paid he would send me the legal documents to show me the lender and the debt paid. I asked the original loan amount and the break down of this 795.23 and he wouldnt tell me he said when I pay off the loan then i will get documantation. these people were very rude and very scary. please help with some advise.

You cannot be arrested for a defaulted PDL. Don't speak to them anymore. If they call, ignore them.

So they wont be sending a sr officer to my work and taking me to jail? He was so mean and rude and I dont remember having a payday loan that was not paid. i guess it is possible but I would like to have that info. So how do I find out my laws in washington state. So if they cannot collect the debt what happens next

There will be no one arresting you. They are not the police nor are they affiliated with any federal agency. These guys are total clowns, ignore the scare tactic.

They have been harassing me and threatening me for a week now. Tonight one of them called and told me I better be in court tomorrow at 11 AM with my friend Susan. Very vague on details, but very clear that I am being charged with check deception, fraud, etc. When I asked hom what court, he said, "You live in N**** V****** don't you?" naming my town. I said yes, but in this county, you get served papers first and go to court 2-4 weeks later. He kept talking as I was raising my voice telling him that I have reported them to the FBI, FTC and the California AG's office for intimidation and harassment. It didn't seem to faze these guys when I told them that my attorney had sent POA's to my creditors a year ago! I was warned this afternoon around 5 PM to have my attorney contact them within the hour. They even called my employer and told her I was going to hell, They have all my personal information, including my [former] bank account number. They call several times a day and when I answer the phone, no one says anything, but then they call back and leave intimidating messages. The contact number is 949-468-5106 and I spoke to a Shawn Marsh, a Patrick Johnson and several others who all have pretty thick eastern Indian accents. I could find no listing for a company by this name under this number, except to find the number is based in Irvine, CA.
I know I am not having a lawsuit brought against me for a PDL. From reading stuff on here, they can't really charge me with anything criminal, right?
I just hate that they are calling my employer and that they haev all my personal information.

Oh, and they also have a FAKE phone number that shows up on my caller ID as 810-676-161. Being originally from Michigan, I know that 810 is a Mich. area code. I really hate these people right now.

I just literally got off the phone with the guy about 5 minutes ago. They are calling from California, and they know that what they are doing is wrong, The first time They called me they told me that I am being sued for a payday loan that I did not pay back, which is a lie, they wouldn't tell me what company I supposedly owe. I told them that I was federal Court employee, they hung up. Two minutes later they called again saying that we got disconnected. I again told him that I was a federal employee and then asked him what state and company he was calling from, he hung up again. I searched on the internet looking for a call back number and finally found this one: 310-598-1752, the same person picks up every time.
The first time I called back I just started cursing at the guy who then cursed at me. We went back and forth for about ten minutes. He finally hung up on me, I called back and this time I was calm, I asked him why was he doing this to people with the economic state of the country, GET THIS, HE TOLD ME THAT HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WAS WRONG AND THAT HE TRIED TO LOOK FOR LEGIT WORK AND COULDN'T FIND ANY!!! I actually had a conversation with the guy. I told him that if he keeps doing what he's doing that the feds were gonna swoop down on them and it's not gonna matter how innocent or guilty you are they are going to put you all in jail and then you really wouldn't be able to find a job.
HE JUST TRIED TO CALL ME BACK BUT WHEN i PICKED UP THERE WAS NO SOUND ON THE OTHER END! SICK!

These people are horrible. They "cluster" called me three different times on Friday, and even though I didn't pick up the phone, they billed my cell phone for 31 minutes each call, eating up my whenever minutes. I had to call Customer Care 3 different times to get this straightened out. They filed a report, and hopefully, I will never be hearing from these sorry excuse for people again.

I get these idots calling me now and then still on debts I had discharged in my BK three years ago. A few weeks ago the guy called me with a very thick heavy accent and he began to use very vulgar language and told me what he was going to do to me infront of my boyfriend. I couldn't believe it, I was trying to find the record button on my cell phone but couldn't get to it so I hung up. It was very disgusting.

Odds are very good that these people aren't even located in the United States but they're using a US phone number. It's really a waste of time trying to reason with any of these people; they have a script which they stick to and even if you tell them you've talked with people in your local government about them using illegal tactics, they'll tell you that your GOVERNMENT doesn't know what it's talking about!!! Just hang up on them.

But yes, I just hang up on them now or don't even bother to answer. If they call my job I send them straight to voicemail and sometimes they dial 0 to get another person and I set mine up to come right back to me.

This makes me SICK!!! Anyone who gets a phone call like this should hang up and immediately file a report with your local police department and file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and the FBI, as I really think that these fools are out of the country.
Before you do this, document as much information as you can about the call. Do everything: the names they used, the time, what they said, what kinds of accents they had. This is the only way we are going to be able to stop this!! They will tell you anything they can think of to scare you into coughing up money, but don't fall for it!!
