My wife used my insurance card to go to the er and i had no coverage now 5 years later the hospital put a 5k collection on my credit.
can I have this removed being that the service was performed on her not me.

Absolutley. Call the hospital financial services center and explain the situation. Then contact all of the credit bureaus in writing explaining the situation. The bill should be in her name because she received the services.

I would also find what the SOL is in your State, as a debt validation letter to the CA would be appropriate. Remember the CA can still come after you; however, if it's a time-barred account, then the case will in all probability be dismissed. I would also file a BBB and FTC complaint.
