Said his client was not interested in settling the debt but would rather sue. he needed my attorney's phone and name. He asked me to confirm my SSN which I refused to do. I asked him for the case # and for the loction of the court, which he refused to give me, yet he told me that I needed to be in court by Monday.
I asked for the address to send a credit verification letter and cease and desist letter and he stated that it was 1365 Chula Vista Drive, Irvine City, Los Angeles County, CA 389016. I told him that could not be correct as I grew up in LA and Irvine is in Orange County and NO zipcodes in LA start with a 3. He then Hung up on me.
He said any pertinent information that I need would be faxed to my employer. I am concerned that they are going to try to get a wage assignment from me. I live in NY and I know that according to NY state law, paydy loans are illegal and I am only required to pay the principal. I did take out payday loans years ago, but I don't know what this is from!
Is there anything I can do to stop them from attempting to collect my wages?

this is a scam.draft a WAGE ASSIGNMENT REVOCATION letter and give it to your HR person.then do not talk to this idiot again.he is in INDIA and can do nothing.get that letter to your HR person then hang up on him if he calls again.repeat until desired effect.that being he stops calling.

Same Phone Call
I just received the same phone call. When I googled the company name he works for this is what came up. I could arrive in court on Wednesday in California ( 2 days from now). Or I could do what is called a out of court restitution of 745.35 today only and fax a letter of apology to the company. i too took out a payday loan but it was repaid. They make it sound like I will pay $8000 if I don't show up in court Wednesday, I will be prosecuted for the offenses as listed above and lose my job. The phone number they gave me is different 215-279-5864. I also said I wouldn't send them any money esp via credit card or debit card.

First off, I live in California as well, and can tell you that for starters, our court system doesn't work that fast and you will NOT be in court on Wednesday. Also, you would have to be served via a process server, which is safe to say hasn't happened in your case, so don't worry about it.
Here's what you need to do ASAP. Document the conversation with these crooks, and then pick up the phone and call Jerry Brown's office (CA Attorney General) in Sacramento. I know they would love to know about this. I would also alert the Calif. Dept of Corporations and file complaints with them and the Federal Trade Commission, as I think these dirtbags are out of the country.

crazy phone call
I had the same call from the same company several weeks ago. After screaming at them on the phone, I have not had any other calls. I was told by a pdl company that this company is a scam. I posted the two company names that I was given on this site several days ago.
