active debt solutions they have a A rating with the BBB.

Yes, I've also found them to have a A- rating with the BBB, which is no doubt a good rating. Moreover, they have IAPDA certified debt consultants and so they should be a good debt settlement company. I also didn't find any complaint against them. However, before you register with them, you should do your own research.

STAY AWAY. If you found no complaints, you didn't look. A simple way to find complaints about any company is to run the name with "scam" added, or "complaint" or "ripoff" etc.

active-debt is one of about 40 lead generating pages (or was; they seem to have a placeholder page now) for CCDN, the Credit Collections Defense Network, which is unlikely to be around much longer. Run "ccdn scam" for some examples, and then run "ccdn active debt". If you have a PACER subscription, check Southwood v. The Credit Card Solution, 09cv81 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, for what CCDN is all about.

IAPDA stands for the International Association of Professional Debt Arbitrators. Yeah right. Why does it need to be International when different countries have very different debt laws? Why is Arbitrators in the name when their site is supposed to be all about counseling? Why is Arbitrators in the name when no creditor will agree to arbitration before them? Never mind--I guarantee nobody at active-debt knows beans about actually helping debtors, but they're excellent at deceptive high-pressure sales.

Okeydoke--look up the FAQ page of active-debt's site and see if you see what I see, which is the first question:

"Who or What is the Credit Collection Defense Network and why should I care?"

And keep reading down the whole long page, or just hit F3 and search "CCDN" and you should find 28 appearances of CCDN on active-debt's FAQ page, which you'll notice looks a whooooole lot like the FAQ page at CCDN's home site.

Why are you so eager to distance yourself from CCDN? Aren't they the nation's leading debt invalidation service? Isn't that something to be proud of? Or are you trying to get out while the getting's good?

Now that I think on it, I seem to remember talking with the West Virginia AG's office about the injunction they got against CCDN and Bob Lock until both of them comply with those silly little investigative requests. What got the ball rolling was one--ONE--complaint by an active-debt customer, which of course led right back to CCDN.

So what's your story now?

Hey Chris,

You may have missed my post on a different thread found here:
debtconsolidationcare.com/settlement/capital-ds-company.html

Any interest? Due to some exposure in NC recently, I have been getting a handful of calls every week from NC residents. Some dont need my assistance, they need yours.

Yes I did see that, but I've been swamped with a project that will become public soon, and I'm close to finished with it. debtconsolidationcare isn't my playhouse and there are rules about providing contact info, but I suppose I can't stop you from putting "chris l in nc" into a search engine, nudge nudge wink wink.

My last answer was there. Now its been removed...
At the onset our business sold for CCDN in 2006. That was a mistake. We had no idea how bad they were.
Since that time (over 3 years) we have ONLY collected our settlement fee AT SETTLEMENT and it is 25% of HOW MUCH WE SAVE THE CLIENT- unlike everyone else!. We have removed all CCDN from website last year. That was an error on our part.

Anyone can call me to discuss at 561-910-4832 Sean Ryan
