NRS is a Texas based collection agency. Now since they have called you up over phone, they need to send you a collection notice within 5 days of initial communication in order to start the process of debt collection. So you need not worry about the call. However, if you want, you can call them at their toll free number 1.800.458.6357. I think that you should also pull out your credit report to check whether they are listed there against any of your debts.

SC....the op does need to worry. Just because the fdcpa says something doesnt mean that the collection agency will follow the rules. People have to stay on their toes and be proactive.

Yes, I agree Soaplady, because the creditors can always harass him for the debt by violating Federal laws. But what I mean to say is that NRS cannot legally recover the debt without sending him a debt validation notice and validating the debt. So from the legal point of view, he may not worry.
"NRS"
Hey thanks for all the replys on this one, I havn't heard from NRS by US Mail yet and probly won't reply to them unless I do. They always seem to come out of nowhere..;)
relentless
This nrs just made contact with me and took me very unaware. I should have known better but have been sick and senses not up to snuff. This debt has changed hands so many times. Each time it is somebody new. there seems to be a differing viewpoint whether they are bottom feeders or legit. Many times they are not able to act from one state to the other legally and therefore they don't have the teeth but I am not sure. This is my X husband's deal but my name is attached and I have been haunted ever since. The young lady has a very pleasant voice but then becomes very adasmant and pressuring when she thinks she has a bite.
