I'm not sure of Freestar, but before you register with a debt settlement company, do a thorough research on the company. You should check the accreditations and program fees as well as other associated cost before you go for it.

AMEX reduced my credit line from $25k to $15k without notifying me. Never been late or at the limit. Called them and they gave me some B.S. excuse. Hopefully it's ok with you to have your credit score drop nearly 200 points, or thereabouts. And hopefully you don't have other credit cards, all of who will likely raise your APR to the highest rate they can.

I want to thank the folks at this company for assisting me through an extremely rough time. I had $68,000 in unsecured debt that I couldn't continue to pay due to elimination of overtime. A co-worker of mine recommended I call and get some advice. I called and before I was allowed to enroll I was told I had to read through a brochure that was e-mailed to be that outlined the pluses and minuses of debt settlement. It was very educational. After reading it I decided to go forward. Part of the enrollment process is doing a detailed budget on the phone with a representative. They want to make sure that the program is beneficial to you and that you will actually be saving money each month.
These people really care about helping people like me who are trouble. I can't say enough about how well I was treated!

I want to second the comments made by the previous poster. Due to the cooments made here and on other sites and due to the fact that this company is the only debt settlement co that is rated A+ by the BBB, I signed on and have been very impressed by their customer service and quailty of work.

Very upfront about all the pitfalls of debt settlement; not a hard sell at all. Seemed honestly concerned and sympathetic about my situation. Wouldn't let me enroll until I read a brochure they e-mailed to me. I read it, called back and signed up. I am happy to fianlly see light at the end of the tunnel!

I am so happy! FreeStar Financial informed me today that they settled my Chase card for $13k! I had tried on my own and didnt get anything close to that.

I discovered this company on this site. I liked the reviews, A+ BBB rating and contacted them. I really like it that you can speak directly with the owners.
