vanidosa27Cruz,
They are supposed to provide documents once they receive the payments. Hope you have records of all the payments that you made.
One more thing, if you continue with $10 per month, you will never be able to clear this account and the amount will go on increasing day by day. Prepare your own budget and add some more on this $10. Negotiate with Asset Acceptance and settle the amount according to your convenience.
Feel free to ask your queries in forums if you have any doubts.

Hi vanidosa27Cruz
It might be possible that due to the lower monthly payments, Asset Acceptance is not transferring the money to your debt account. They might be expecting a larger payment from you. Talk to them clearly and get the latest update on this account. Don't let your debt account rise higher each month. BTW, did you request for a debt validation before sending the money. You need to be sure that they are holding your account legitimately. Verify with them about your account so that your money doesn't get wasted.
At this situation, I must suggest you for a debt consolidation program. You will have a fixed and lower monthly payment and Asset Acceptance will be surely transferring the money to your debt account. This will be initiated after the consultant has negotiated with them.
The consultant will further take care of your accounts and keep you updated by sending all the monthly statements and latest standing of this account. Also, in the consolidation program, all the financial charges and late fees will be eliminated. This will make the total debt amount much lower and easier to pay.
Have a discussion with the consultant in this website. The counseling is free here. After you feel satisfied with it, you can start up the program.

Roxette

I cannot afford to make a larger payment because I am a full-time student and a full-time mother of 5 children. I pay RJM Acquisitions $10 a month and they send me a statment that shows my payment deduction and the next due date for my next scheduled $10 payment. I also get this from Tate and Kirklin. Does the consolidation cost money? That is the last thing I need right now! I am paying one creditor $30 a month because they took me to court, and the other ones I am paying $10/month for a total of $100 per month which is all we can afford. I pay off a debt each year with my income tax refund. There is nothing more that I can do.

Discuss your financial situation with the consultant and he will analyze your financial situation. He will offer you some budgeting tips on how to save money and contribute more towards your debt. He will also negotiate with your lenders and try to reduce the total debt amount. I am sure there might be some way of handling this problem.

I used to work for them!!!
I am sorry you are experiencing such a rough time. I worked (briefly) for Asset. They train their collectors for an entire month before allowing them to make calls on accounts. They want ignorant individuals who enjoy bullying people. I have never worked for such an organization. People need to know the atmosphere they foster. They regularly stand up and cheer when some poor schmuck gets harassed into paying. They throw a football around - it's the most unprofessional environment I've ever been in. The integrity of this company is questionable - the company is growing rapidly, and unfortunately, they have lost sight of the reason they are in business.
You have rights. Ask them for a transcript of your payment and application of them. Dispute the debt. Please keep in mind every time you make a payment, the statute for collection of your debt is extended.
Also keep in mind that all collectors have settlement authority, and as the statute nears expiration, the amount of funds they may accept will decrease. Do not "help" them by providing them with information re: your bank, where you work, or your assets. They will use tese to sue you.
The statute for collection of a debt in the State of Michigan is 5 years from the date of liability, or last payment. They can also charge interest on your account by state statute, but only at the rate specified by the state you are residing in. You need to look into this. So by paying them, you are giving them more time to sue if they feel they can.
