I'm trying to settle my citi card account with 11,000 owed. I called today to see what they would do and the person I spoke to said they didn't offer settlements unless there was a medical condition that resulted in job loss or terminal illness. Sounds bogus to me and I plan on calling again.

Any advice for settlement or who I should try to talk to?

Also I have three other credit cards with 0% interest introductory rates - will the interest rate change if I let my payments slide w/ citi during the negotiation process?

I have two cards with citi and while they didnt let me settle, (my balance was only 3200 between the two) we came to a payment arrangement where they cut my interest rate down to 0% for 12 months and waived all the late/ovelimit fees that had accrued which was a HUGE help in knocking the balances down. When you call back just tell them your unable to make the minimum payments and will they work with you. I think they even have a program where they match your payments up to a certain amount.
As for your other cards, interest rates go up anyway. You said they were introductory rates so get ready for a interest spike whether or not citi works with you. good luck
