1) Go to ANNUALCREDITREPORT.COM and request your reports from all three credit bureaus. The site is sponsored by the government and there is no charge to receive your reports once per year or any time you've been denied credit.
2) Go through each report carefully and dispute anything that is inaccurately reported. You may also find variations of your name, address or SSN that are incorrect - you can dispute those as well, but you may have to do it by phone.

Actually, if your Ch 7 BK has been discharged, you pretty much can get a car loan the day is was discharged...(well, that was before the economic meltdown)...so, you don't have to worry about credit cleaning b/c everything should've been included in the BK...just make sure your credit reports are showing them as Included In Bankruptcy.
