I am trying to repair my credit but not sure how to approach the collection agencies. I was very ill a few years ago. I filed a banckruptcy and then got sick a year later. I just want to clean all this mess and have my credit cleaned up so i can move on with my life. Its like a monkey on my back that just wont go away. How do i persuade these guys to delete my debts off my credit report.

As per the FTC, your cannot legally remove negative information from your credit report if it is timely and accurate. It will stay there for seven years and 180 days from the date of your delinquency even if you pay off the debt in full. However, paying off a debt will save you from judgment which the creditors might bring against you to recover the debt. You can contact your creditors yourself or register with a good debt settlement company to pay off your debts. If you want, you can also take free counseling from this community experts.
