What is the best way to handle this?

I'm posting this for a friend. He is in debt with two credit cards, one is Chase the other is BOA. His intentions are to file BK in the fall. He already consulted an Attorney for his free initial visit.
He is now two months behind on both (almost three). He attempted to make hardship arrangements and only received the run around. He receives phone calls on his cell and home phone 7 days a week up to about 10 - 15 per day. My question is this: should he answer the calls or continue to ignore them? He is not sure about the proper thing to do????? Suggestion or advice?

He hasn't made any payments toward the BK yet but is firm about filing. He just wondered what if anything he should be doing until he does actually file.
Hardship arrangements are generally only made when the payments
Hardship arrangements are generally only made when the payments are still on time, so in this case you would treat it just like it is a future settlement deal and do your best to stall them.
