Company Called "Debt Relief"

A friend of mine just told me that he is going thru this company and they already cut his debt almost in half to credit card companies. He is supposed to send his payments to them.
I am very concerned about this company and if they are legit. Please post if you have had any contact with this company and give details if possible.

be careful. IMO these companies are scams, you can settle your own debts w/out having to pay someone to do it for you. Many of them are being investigation & shut down by the atty general. Stay away from debt settlement companies! They're evil.
