does anyone know if United Attorneys or US Attorneys are a collection company or a legal company. I cannot find anything on them online. Please help. Thank you

they are collecting for Money and More and I am in California. They called me to collect the debt and left voicemaisl saying that they were trying to prevent a supoena from coming through. I asked for their company info and they could not provide any and I asked for the information to be sent to me in writing and they said they did not di anything in writing and that all I had to do was pay the loan. Do you know anything about them? I get a call for Ann Mogul at 800-380-6926 ext 353

One thing I can tell you, according to the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act), you are entitled to receive a "dunning letter" through the USPS. That is a Federal law which states that 5 days after the first initial contact from the debtor they must send you a dunning letter in the mail. The letter SHOULD state, how much the bill is for, who the original creditor was, etc. It should also state somewhere on the letter that this is an attempt to collect a debt from a debt collector, if you dispute this debt you must request validation within 30 days of receiving the letter. Tell the people who call you they are violating the Federal law by NOT sending you the above information. That is what I would do.
