This firm has a rep calling work number DAILY from about 5-7 different numbers identified on caller ID only as "New York". I did a google search and found some seriously disturbing info about his attys mentors in debt collection practices.
Its been about 2 weeks since the first call began. No letters for debt received and nothing even on showed up when a credit report was pulled.
Any info is helpful. Thanks!

Ria,
If you are quite sure that they are calling you for collecting debts and if you have their contact details, then do send them DV letter. Use a sample letter from the list here-

Don't forget to tell them not to call at your work. You can define the mode and time of contact also. Send it through certified mail with return receipt requested. If they continue to call you after receiving your letter, file your complaint with FTC, BBB or Office of Attorney General.

It's better to do some research on the company before picking up their unidentified call. Ria did her research on this company and found some facts that were quite disturbing. At least, she will now be prepared on how to present in front of them. She is concerned about making the payment and does not want to pay it to the wrong company.
Hope you will also do the same if you were in her place.

But it is so dangerous to ignore them and 'bury your head in the sand'.
Start a dialogue, get as much info as you can and ask for proof - this will get you time to check into both the debt and the collector.
I received a call from Craig D. Hannah Law Offices!!
Hello to all those who post at this site! Just yesterday afternoon, I received a phone call from this company claiming that I was going to face a lawsuit from a previous creditor. The account was 7 years old and is currently charged off, however this company used threatening tactics to get the person to send money. I suggest that any calls made from this office should be directed to the Federal Trade Commission and file a complaint. Their phone number is (877) 382-4357. IF anyone else received a phone call from this company, you should immediately take action as to what they're doing is very illegal!!

My office received a bogus call yesterday and when i returned the call they were evasive and wanted case numbers. We are not doing business with these people and I believe they are a fraud.
