Who is the lender?

NO, No, and No. They can attempt to sue you if they want. It will end up costing them their business. Here is what I have noticed with most Illegal lenders I have came across.

#1 No License registered in most states.

#2 No Legal recourse in any court of law no matter what they threaten. Not even arrest for debts are civil matters.

#3 Contract null and void if not licensed in your state or any state according to many state Attorney General Offices.

#4 Sueing you will cost them more in fees than the original loan amount most likely.

Can you please tell us the name of the PDL company you are dealing with?

CMG, United Cash Loans and Geneva Roth....i tried to work out a payment plan but they are incredible unreasonable.

Some ipdl's have filed for arbitration against borrowers and a few have even sued. Most don't. On your list the only on I ever heard of doing it was Geneva Roth and that was a long time ago.

I know once I hit the sand and check in at the airport a siren will go off and I will be pummeled by TSA agents..RLMAO!!!!

I have to be careful when I travel, as well; I've been told by more than one PDL that I will be taken to trial in a British court of law! So, guess that spring trip to England is out.... ;)

You may want to take a look at the Federal Arbitration Act, Cool Abyss. It includes provisions for international arbitration awards.

CMG are a bunch of thieves. We started noticing 90.00 was being took out of our account in December 2008,every 2 weeks, we notified our bank and requested information on who this was. All our bank could give us was a 1-866 number for this company and our bank at the time refused to let us close our account. There was another one taking money out of our account at the same time as CMG, they are Debit DR/Magnum Z, our bank could not give us any info on them either except a 800 number. When we filed BK in April 2009, i had to dig to find information on these companies to give my Attorney the information. :)

Just ask yourself this: is an international IPDL, like Sonic (which from the countries spoken of I know we were talking about) REALLY going to spend plane fare from Malta, Ireland, or whereever the frig they are now to pursue a PDL???? I mean, sheesh, PLANE FARE's more that what they would get in court!!

That is so true kscornell. Pay $2200 on a plane ticket for 3+ "legal team" to come and serve me on my doorstep for a $200 IPDL in which I paid $1200 towards already :x Are you friggin serious!!

I will eat my shoes that day that happens! If they do show up to get me I will be waiting with a squad of lawyers to hammer them on their illegal lending practices and blatant threats :wink: I have handeled worse in Iraq, trust me..LOL!

How do you find out if a payday loan company is legally licensed in my state? I have one I am now questioning as there automated phone system just happen to be not working all week and I just got through this evening to tell them I wanted to make an extra payment on my loan to pay it down and they tried to deny me and when I requested a supervisor they denied me that then the foreign lady proceeded to read off script over and over like a computerized robot till I threaten to close my bank account and deny them anymore payments then she said oh wait we can schedule to take a new payment so I am questioning as I questioned her if they were legally licensed to operate in my state and she refused to answer. The loan company is PanAmCash

Get this... After sending a restricting contact; asking for a detailed accounting of all monies paid; questioning their legality to operate in MD and requesting proof that they were licensed---this is what i got>>

ready for this one... a PAID IN FULL LETTER AND $160 REFUND.

TOO BAD THE OTHER SCAMMERS WON'T FOLLOW SUIT...
