a CA has been reporting a 2006 debt on my file, 158$.
I disputed in writing by CMRR five times since January.
no response.
I disputed with Experian two times in writing. They send me a letter that they verified the debt as mine, providing no detailed information and keep posting the debt.
I filed a complaint with FTC. nothing changes.
What can I do to help my situation?
I am out of ideas and sick of paying expensive letters to these people.
Please advise.
Thank you!:)

Did you dispute the debt with the collection agency or did you ask for debt validation? You need to send a debt validation letter by CMRR to your creditors. Dispute letters are send only to the credit bureaus to dispute a listing in your report and not to CAs. You can call FTC at their toll free number 1-877-382-4357 and file a complaint.
